If you plan to send your print order to a mailing list or need a guaranteed quantity, we recommend that you order between 10-15% over the minimum quantity you need. This will ensure that your mailing requirements will be met.
What if I want to change something on my order after I've placed my order? [Back to top]
Once your file has been submitted, we have no means of doing any changes to it because our automated system will begin the process of setting the job to print. This is why it is important to review your orders and files carefully prior to submitting. Only jobs that request proofs will be allowed files to be resubmitted.
Can I send you documents created in MS Word, Publisher or PowerPoint? [Back to top]
No, be sure to follow our guidelines of files we accept. Our FTP upload will ONLY take JPEG and TIFF files and reject all others that do not conform to these standards.
What is the difference between the RGB and CMYK and why does it matter? [Back to top]
RGB refers to the primary colors of light, Red, Green and Blue, that are used in monitors. CMYK refers to the primary colors of pigment: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. These are the inks used on the press in "4-color process printing”- the combination of these 4 colors will produce your final printed piece.
The combination of RGB light creates white, while the combination of CMYK inks creates black. Therefore, it is physically impossible for the printing press to exactly reproduce colors as we see them on our monitors. All RGB will be rejected
Many programs have the capability to convert the layout/images from the RGB color space to the CMYK color space. You must convert your colors from RGB to CMYK giving you more pigment on paper than you see on your monitor. Be especially careful to keep backgrounds light if there is black or dark colored text over it, so that the text remains readable. See our RGB and CMYK details in our File Prep tab so your job is printed properly.
How can I know what a particular CMYK color combination will look like? [Back to top]
The only way to see what your CMYK color will look like is to do a color proof. This will give you an approximate look to your final piece. Please note that proofs are on gloss stock, if you are running on uncoated stocks, colors will tend to be a bit darker due to ink absorption into stock.
How do I check for proper imposition or backup? [Back to top]
"Imposition" and "backup" refer to how the front of a printed piece is oriented to the back. In the case of a brochure, you normally turn it over right-to-left (like you turn the page of a book, in order to have the back side read correctly -- not upside down.)
You must submit files as individual pages. PLEASE DO NOT SEND FILES AS PRINTERS SPREAD. Be sure to a create a "mockup" or "dummy." prior to submitting your files so you can check for correct order, this is especially important when a job will be folded. If the job is very critical with complex crossovers, it is best to overnight us your mockup.
How much bleed should I have for all printed items? [Back to top]
¼ inch is the correct amount you should allow for all pages that require bleed.
How long will it take to upload my files? [Back to top]
It will vary depending on four factors- your file size, the speed of your internet connection, the total number of files you will be sending and the volume of Internet traffic at the time you send it. Our upload browser will let you know which files have been successfully uploaded.
Can I retract a file that has been upload? [Back to top]
It is very important that you choose your files correctly, properly labeling your files will help you better select the files you choose to upload when you reach the browser area. We match your order number to the file you submit, file retraction is impossible at this point.
How do I place an order and have my graphic designer upload my files separately? [Back to top]
All orders and files must be placed at the same time using a valid credit card. Our system does not hold orders and someone can submit files later. You must do a complete checkout with your files uploaded in one setting.
What happens if my connection gets interrupted while I’m uploading a file?[Back to top]
This will be a special case that you would need to call us so we can arrange an alternate way to get your file. Once your credit card has been accepted, the system generates an order number that we can see the details of your order.
What major credit cards to you accept and do you accept any other methods of payment?
